A STATEMENT FROM THE
LEADER OF THE REVOLUTION, 16th November 2005, 11:10
Last
Friday night, on the Libyan TV, the Leader of the Revolution hand
over a statement to the Secretary of Information Affairs at the
General People's Committee for Foreign Liaison and International
Cooperation, to convey to Arab and world mass media.
The
text of the leader's statement is as follows:
" We were helped by the
ingenuity of this director, Mustapha al-Aqad - God 's Mercy upon
him- in projecting to (the whole world) a painful page experienced
by the Libyan people, as a result of the unjust Italian invasion, in
the film "Omar al-Mukhtar", the symbol of Libyan resistance. It was
only one part of the atrocities of that heinous barbaric invasion.
The ingenuity of al-Aqad in the Libyan film “The Message" had also
helped.
I was preparing a film about the years of torture (injustice) which
is projecting pages- not only one page- of that tragedy, to which
the Libyan people were subjected at the hands of the Italians
invaders. I was intending, to seek again the ingenuity of al-Aqad to
direct this film, of which the historic tragic story I wrote myself,
but we are deprived of the ingenuity of al-Aqad, by a heinous crime,
not less in atrocity than what the Italians did in Libya in Omar
al-Mukhtar film which he directed.
The act which claimed the life of
al-Aqad, his daughter, and scores of others are the worst lunatic
illogical, nonobjective acts which are not subjected to any
justification. The Muslims fighting for freedom and the genuine
Mujahdeen have not but exculpate themselves from it, for it is an
evil's act".
