RCM [30/01/2008] ] "Libya has prepared strategic choices and alternatives in case Africa wants to squander its future" said leader Muammar Al Qathafi yesterday in front of the international mass media, in Tripoli. The Leader Muammar Al Qathafi emphasized that Libya's enthusiasm to the African unity, to Africa's strength and to the establishment of the African federal government, just like the United States of America, Europe, China, Brazil and India, is for Africa's sake, as a whole and not only for Libya. He told the international mass media in his address on Tuesday in Tripoli, through which he wanted to put the African citizens in front of their responsabilities and to be heard by the African states leaders in ample time, ahead of the Addis Ababa summit: "Those who say why is Libya enthusiastic about African unity... Or who say why Qathafi wants African unity obviously... I would tell them, this is for Africa and not only for Libya. Libya deserves it sovereignty and its interest in an African unity...with a well-guarded African sovereignty, with a single African defense, with a single African strong economy and with a single African market." Libya will not take part in selling Africa declared the leader, and he, personally, will never participate in selling African in a public auction, and if he discovered treason, bribery, squandering Africa's future or destroying it, he would inform the African citizens about this bitter reality if it occurs. The Leader stressed that Libya has a prepared strategic choices and alternatives, and if it thinks that Africa it will squander its future. And in this regard, he emphasized that Libya could play a decisive role in establishing three other spaces, other than the African space, the Mediterranean space or the Arab space and Islamic space. He explained that Libya is part of the Mediterranean Sea that forms an international and strategic space. "The Mediterranean Europe welcomes Libya as partner, it is a lake of oil and gas that extends for about two thousand kilometers on the southern Mediterranean coast, and Libya, in this case, will benefit from its partnership with a strong and progressive side, which has the modern technology (...) Libya has another space, the Arab space that could play a role in establishing it from north Africa to Iraq, which is strong with oil, gas and human forces, potentials, strategic position from Gibraltar, to Bab Al-Mandeb, to Hurmuz Strait (...) Libya is a part of the Islamic world, which extends from Marrakech to Indonesia, and some day could play a role in forming a very strong Islamic space on the basis of Islam". He also said that we do not have a fear complex with regards to integrating with Europe and the Mediterranean Sea, because we, the revolutionaries in Libya, with our culture, religion and a great historical legacy that changed the world's map over and over, have gotten rid of inferiority complex, oppression and conspiracy that says Europe and Mediterranean Sea are frightening and could defeat and colonize us.
