Russian
president Vladimir Putin arrived yesterday evening to
Tripoli within the framework of an official visit in the
Great Jamahiriya in response to the invitation of the
brother-comrade, Colonel Muammar Al Qathafi, international
leader of the revolution.
This
visit intervenes shortly after the celebration in Libya of
the 22nd birthday of the 1986 American fiasco
when with spinelessness, American imperialist forces
supported by their Western allies within NATO, bombarded
Tripoli and Benghazi cities killing many innocent citizens.
The
leader of the revolution did not hesitate to welcome his
host in front of this residence, which illustrates American
cruelty and testifies the failure of the attempt of his
assassination and that of his family during that period
It
should also be recalled that Russian president Vladimir
Putin who is making the first visit of this type for a
Russian president since 1985, is also accompanied by a
strong delegation of which, Alexeï Koudrine, Deputy Prime
Minister and Russian Minister for Finances, and Anatoli
Issaïkine, chairman from an important firm in Russia.
It
should be noted that Libya was an important partner of the
old USSR and that the relations between the two countries
cooled after the bursting of the Soviet block.
