[RCM.27.07.2009] General People's Committee Held its 20th Ordinary Meeting In Tripoli. 

The General People's Committee held last 22nd its 20th Ordinary meeting in Tripoli to discuss about the implementation of the decisions of the Basic People's Congresses in different sectors.

Among the items discussed at during the meeting were those submitted by the General committee for foreign liaison and international cooperation, including endorsement of agreements signed with Singapore to be later referred to the General People's Congress’ ratification.

They include one for tax duplicity and tax evasion, another for encouragement and protection of investments, and also endorsement of a memorandum of understanding signed by the GPC of Foreign Liaison and International Cooperation and the Republic of Slovenia.

The Committee also discussed in its meeting a number of issues related to the Basic People's Congresses decisions. It decided to endorse a proposal by the GPC of Agriculture, Livestock and Marine Wealth to include vets in the Committee's Decision No 595 of 2007 on restructuring financial status including salaries of public health services doctors assigned to work in remote areas of the country.

The Committee also endorsed a request by the GPC of Communication and Transport over imports of spare parts, re-location of Meteorological Radar and establishment of a data base.

In the public areas category of the agenda, the committee discussed several items and decided to endorse the GPC draft decision on some legislations concerning exercise of economic activities.

The Committee also discussed a proposal on a legislation regarding granting tourist entry visas to Libya.
